Monarch Magic

Doesn't this look like a UFO from a 1960's Sci Fi movie? I've been waiting all year to get this photo. It's the amazing egg of the Monarch Butterfly. Here you can see it better magnified at 60X. This is how you might see it if you are fortunate enough to find one. This one is magnified at 10X.
I have no idea what this is but it looked interesting...Here is a small Monarch caterpillar that is probably about three days old. Monarch caterpillars eat their eggs after they emerge. This allows them to turn into the black, yellow, and white colors after they are born. The caterpillars have 12 small eyes, six per side. There are 14 jointed segments, six legs attached to the thorax, and 10 prolegs that are attached to the abdomen.
