Peter's Jurassic World

This is my grandson, Peter.  He is amazing.  He is named after my father, Petrus Johannes Mattheaus Maria Fleuren.  Its a very very good name.  We love our Peter and miss his Opa terribly.

Peter got to spend a couple of weeks with Grammy and Grampy this summer.  We all decided it would be a good idea to make a habitat for all the animals that came home for the summer from the Science Lab.

Peter found a place behind the garden and set to work in 90+ degree weather to build a home for the African Pygmy Hedgehog, the guinea pig, the bunny, the three box turtles, and the three aquatic turtles.

Peter dug holes and built fences.  The turtles we found are amazing escape artists!  We had to put rocks in the smallest places to prevent them from burrowing out.
We gave the turtles high protein dog food and discovered that the guinea pig and the hedgehog love it too!  Bunny eats all the grass and her bunny food.  The guinea pig turned out to be the dominant animal in the tribe and made sure he had the home he wanted.
Here is Pete explaining how he made this amazing home for our creatures.
This Eastern Black Snake was slinking nearby so we put mothballs around the fence to keep him out.

We love our Peter!
